Mr. Silverman joined The Dallas Marketing Group in 1992 with 15 years of market research, marketing, strategic planning, and event marketing experience. His primary focus is the application of a full range of market research services to help clients identify opportunities to improve sales, margins, and profits. He is equally skilled in developing and executing marketing programs to achieve these same goals. Mr. Silverman was named President of The Dallas Marketing Group in 1999.

Mr. Silverman spent over six years building a consulting and research firm dedicated to providing senior level marketing and market research insight to clients. He developed AD/OPsm, a proprietary perceptual research product used by over two dozen advertising agencies nationwide, and has incorporated many of the AD/OP perception-gathering techniques into other assignments. While with Silver Marketing Group, Mr. Silverman created It's a Kid's World Exposition and Marketplace, a major consumer exhibition showcasing products and services for children and families, and developed sponsorship alliances with major corporations.

In his dual role as a Research Director and Account Supervisor, Mr. Silverman consulted on research issues for a wide range of clients and was instrumental in the agency's winning of two major accounts.

Anderson Clayton Foods, Inc.

During four years in brand management, Mr. Silverman's assignments included Seven Seas® salad dressings and an extensive line of specialty cheese products. He developed and implemented a highly successful new product development process and significantly improved both margins and sales volume by radically altering the trade promotion structure.

Scott Paper Company

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Mr. Silverman acquired a thorough understanding of the problem definition and methodology selection process while providing paper towel and bathroom tissue brand groups with a wide range of strategic market research services. Upon his promotion to a brand management position on Viva® towels, he obtained his basic marketing training and directed the promotional campaign for a major improvement introduction which achieved record shipments and profits.

Mr. Silverman is a member of the American Marketing Association and the Institute of Management Consultants. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Case Western Reserve University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

He has been active in many market sectors and several industries, and has broad experience in marketing, market research, consulting, strategic planning, sales, operations and product development, particularly in the technology sectors. His primary focus is to enlarge the firm’s capabilities to serve clients in technology-intensive markets.

InVivoMETRICS, Inc.

Albuquerque, New Mexico
As Vice President Sales & Marketing for this start-up contract research company, Mr. Egan developed the national business roll-out and ramp-up strategies and the initial market awareness program. The company pioneered the use of non-invasive technology to assess the safety and efficacy of new pharmaceutical and medical device products.

Mr. Egan was a general partner in this award winning marketing and graphic design agency for five years. EDA created market entry strategies, developed corporate identities and launched new products for clients such as Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems, Frito Lay, Decibel Corp., TCBY, BeautiControl, Atmos Energy Corp. and numerous others in diverse business sectors ranging from technology to food.

As President of this software publisher, Mr. Egan was responsible for all phases of operations including strategic planning for United States Operations, P&L, product development and product support.

During his ten years with this distributor of capital medical equipment, Mr. Egan developed the marketing and strategic skills required to succeed in the ever changing healthcare and technology marketplaces. Serving in many capacities including Director of Marketing, Manager of Product Development, Sales and Staff Consultant, Mr. Egan worked with several emerging technologies ­ MRI, CT, high definition TV and computer controlled cancer therapy ­ that have permanently changed healthcare delivery. He was a key member of a sales and marketing team that grew this company from a local supplier to a multi-million dollar business.

Mr. Egan is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and serves as an officer of the Dallas/Fort Worth chapter. Prior to launching his business career, Mr. Egan spent over a decade in the academic community. He served on the faculties of Princeton University, the University of Texas at Austin and Lawrence University. He has published two textbooks and several scientific articles. He earned a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, and a Ph.D. in physiology from the University of Texas at Austin.
 

CHERYL R. HALPERN

Ms. Halpern joined The Dallas Marketing Group in 2005 with twenty years of experience in strategic planning, brand management and market research. She helps business and marketing decision-makers by providing actionable research and objective, insightful analysis. She has worked with clients of all sizes in a variety of industries, with her most extensive experience based in consumer goods and direct selling.

Independent Consultant

Over an eight year period, Ms. Halpern served as an independent marketing and business strategy consultant for clients ranging from local operations to international giants such as Unilever, Wyndham and Frito-Lay. She partnered with business owners and marketing professionals to create comprehensive marketing plans, brand position statements, sales force incentive programs, forecasting models, and tactical marketing and communication pieces.

Mary Kay Inc.

Dallas, Texas
As Vice President of Global Product Marketing, Ms. Halpern oversaw general strategy, product category plans, product concept and development, forecasting, pricing, promotional planning, packaging design, communications plan development, product mix analysis, and budget management for all product lines. She spearheaded the launch of over 1,000 new products, and presented to audiences of up to 10,000 people at the annual Mary Kay Seminar. As a member of the senior management team, she was also involved in motivating and training the sales force and analyzing sales force trends.

The Stroh Brewery Company

Dallas, Texas
Ms. Halpern was a pricing analyst with the regional office of the Stroh Brewery Company, tracking multi-brand promotions across a six state region and analyzing their effectiveness prior to and following implementation.

Austin, Texas
While earning her MBA, Ms. Halpern assisted in a variety of marketing research surveys and advertising analyses.

DBG&H Unlimited, Inc.

As an account executive, Ms. Halpern managed the development of collateral, advertising and press releases for clients as diverse as homebuilders to the Virginia Slims of Dallas.

Professional and Academic

Ms. Halpern graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas with a BS in Advertising and an MBA with a concentration in Marketing. She has served on the boards and been an officer of several non-profit organizations, volunteered as a tutor with the TEAM program, served as a wishgranter with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas, and acted as Vice Chair of Marketing/Publicity for the JCC Maccabi Games.
